Parrotheads at Lulu's
Lulu and Jimmy Buffett

A SATURDAY SURPRISE

It must have been a shock to many of the LuLu's guest to see the Chief Parrothead stopped by LuLu's on a busy Saturday. Such was the case on January 28th, when Jimmy stopped in to visit LuLu and have a little gumbo.

STARS FELL ON LULUS

Thanks to all Parrotheads who hold the memory of my parents in the same light I do. I guarantee my mama raised her Gin and Tonic to the "Stars" when You made that wonderful toast. She truly loved visiting as many Parrothead events as she could manage late in her life...and this one was her favorite!

See you soon! March is right around the corner.

A PARROT HEAD DEDICATION TO JAMES DELANEY AND MARY LORRAINE “PEETS” BUFFETT AT THE STARS FELL ON ALABAMA 2005 EVENT AT LULU’S

The influence our parents have had on all of us is obvious. What might not be so obvious is the influence Jimmy Buffett’s parents have had on us. If Jimmy had been raised differently, would he have grown into the entertainer who has taught us all how to live on Island Time? If Jimmy had been raised differently, would he have been able to take us to Margarittaville? If Jimmy had been raised differently, would all of us be here now, enjoying the friendships we have with all other Parrot Heads? I don’t think so.

While we are all enjoying the sites and sounds of LuLu’s new place, there is one sight that everyone is very obviously missing. In years past, Ms. Peets’ smiling face has been a highlight for first timers to Stars Fell on Alabama as well as those of us who have been here before. The pride she had in her children was evident by the broad smile which came to her face whenever someone complimented Jimmy’s music or Lucy’s wonderful restaurant. She was truly the matriarch of a unique and wonderful clan, and there is no doubt she and J.D. are both looking down on us here today and still trying to figure out what all the Parrot Head fuss is all about.

For this reason, I would like to take this opportunity to raise a glass in a toast of thanks to Jimmy and Lucy’s Buffett’s parents for all they did to make this possible.

“To J.D. Buffett and to Ms. Peets…Thanks you for having such a good influence on all our lives!!!!.... What time is it????.....”
